It has been delightful to witness a surge of interest in our recent Saturday Work Days. Maybe it's the nice weather or breaks from school/work or an easing in pandemic fears. Whatever the reason(s), it's been great to have so many volunteers helping at the shop.
This summer, despite some warm/hot weather, we had a really nice turnout for our 2nd and 4th Saturday volunteer events. In addition to quite a few of our faithful regulars, we had great energy from new volunteers including students, as well as our staff of Andrew and Gregg at events to assist with both Saturday sales and mentoring.
A special shout out to Jack Miller and Roger Conley Smith, who have stepped up to lead these Work Days. Thanks also to Colleen and Carol who so ably staff the front desk and coordinate lunch, to Jonny for his stellar work in setting up in the morning, and to Etienne for his equally stellar work in helping to close up the shop at day's end.
Note that we're actively recruiting event leaders, so if you're interested in taking on a role as host (or even willing to help with opening and/or closing), please contact our senior event leader,
Hope to see everyone again soon! Even better, next time, invite a friend to come with you. Orientation starts at 10am for new volunteers.
