Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange (SVBE) is proud to announce the release of our 2025 Annual Report and our 2026 Annual Plan. Together, these documents reflect a milestone year of growth and outline an ambitious path forward.

2025 Annual Report Highlights

2025 was a year defined not only by impressive numbers, but by the strength of our community.

  • 822 unique volunteers contributed 13,768 hours of service.
  • 908 refurbished bikes donated through partnerships with 20 service organizations.
  • 829 additional bikes refurbished for retail operations.
  • Strategic partnerships with the City of Palo Alto and the City of South San Francisco expanded bike access for local students.
  • Launched new Veterans Repair Days in partnership with the Veterans Association (V.A.) Palo Alto Health Care System’s Recreation Therapy.
  • Hosted more than 190 community repair events, including Women’s Nights, Co-Ed Nights, Youth Repair Days and more.
  • Introduced Thaco Thursday, a monthly community ride series co-hosted with Western Wheelers.

Beyond the metrics, 2025 strengthened our mission to encourage our communities to choose bicycles for a sustainable future.

2026 Annual Plan Priorities

Building on this momentum, our 2026 plan focuses on impact, sustainability, and operational growth.

  • Repair and donate 900 bikes and repair 400 community bikes at our shop and/or at off-site events.
  • Continue transportation equity partnerships with the City of Palo Alto.
  • Host biannual parking lot sales and swap meets.
  • Expand service operations and shop hours.
  • Implement our new CRM system, DonorView, to enhance the volunteer experience, general communications and reporting.
  • Develop SOPs to strengthen administrative systems and support long-term growth.
  • Recruit and retain more Mentor Mechanics to sustain our programs.
  • Begin planning for long-term facility stability.
