New Monthly Series Begins July 17

The popular Thaco Thursday Tours—a group ride series co-hosted by Western Wheelers and Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange (SVBE)—has just completed its first round of ten fun-filled, taco-fueled rides. But we’re not stopping now. We’re excited to announce that Thaco Thursday Rides will continue!

Why You Should Join

Love cycling? Crave tacos? Connect with great people while supporting small local businesses and local nonprofits! Thaco Thursday Rides are the perfect excuse to get out, give back, and roll with a purpose.

See new places – fresh routes and scenic South-Peninsula sights every month
Make new friends – build real community with fellow riders
Support local – fuel up while discovering the flavors of local small businesses and the mission of Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange.
Get involvedvolunteer with SVBE, learn to lead rides, or just show up and enjoy the ride

Whether you're a casual rider or a cycling regular, all are welcome. Come for the ride, stay for the tacos and discover what makes this community roll.

Here’s What’s New (and What’s Staying Awesome)

New Monthly Schedule (Spring and Summer)

  • Rides will now take place on the Third Thursday of the month.
  • Same start time: arrive by 9:30 am for a 9:45 am roll-out. (NEW slightly earlier!) 
  • Start and end location remains: SVBE, 3961 East Bayshore Road, Palo Alto.
  • Rides will take place monthly in the dry months (est. March - October)

New Taco Tradition

View from the Bay Trail: Baylands Golf Course and San Francisquito Creek, the county line between Santa Clara and San Mateo
  • Each ride will now include a stop at the same incredible lunch spot: Taqueria La Cazuela, East Palo Alto
  • Great food, local flavor and plenty of outdoor seating

Fresh Routes Every Month

  • Routes will vary, offering 25-ish miles of beginner-friendly fun with a little challenge
  • Expect plenty of scenic stops, low-traffic paths and minimal elevation gain
  • All abilities welcome – no one gets dropped
  • Route Info: Posted on the Western Wheelers Ride Calendar, the Monday before each ride
