How did you get involved with SVBE?

After working with numerous nonprofits and small businesses, I discovered the Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange and was immediately drawn to the positive impact the volunteers had created over the past 30+ years. The organization's mission resonated deeply with me, and I was thrilled to join the team as Program Manager in September 2024.

What keeps you coming back?

The connection to the community is what keeps me coming back. Through our work, we're involved with amazing volunteers and partners, promoting sustainable transportation, and fostering personal growth through community investment. Mission-oriented organizations like SVBE lead with their hearts in the right place, a quality that's increasingly rare in today's world.

Beyond SVBE, what are you passionate about in the community?

I'm a scuba diving enthusiast and excited to contribute to Reef Check as a citizen scientist. I'm also passionate about exploring the local area, from hiking and beachcombing to trying out new restaurants. My boyfriend Tony and I love to garden and cook together, and our silly deaf cat, Nova, adds a touch of chaos to our lives.

What's your background in cycling? And on wrenching on bikes?

I have fond memories of learning to ride bikes as a child and going on family bike rides in Las Vegas. My dad and I would often work on my bike together, and I'm excited to continue honing my bike mechanic skills and exploring more cycling opportunities through my involvement with SVBE.

What has been the most interesting problem you've worked on at SVBE?

My most exciting project so far has been getting to know our community and understanding its unique culture.

What is your vision for the future of SVBE?

I envision expanding SVBE's reach and strengthening our already rich culture and community impact. To achieve this, I plan to focus on improving our operations and processes, setting SVBE up for a successful future in line with our mission, and then growing our programs.
