Bicycle Safety Education

children taking a bike safety class We offer a bicycle safety program where we educate recipients of donated bicycles about bicycle safety. Just giving away bicycles to people who struggle to afford one is not enough to ensure their safe and effective use.

Through certified instructors from the League of American Bicyclists, classes are held, especially for younger recipients, to ensure safe and effecting cycling habits early on. These instructors are certified by the organization and have received extensive training for conducting instruction in both on-road and classroom settings. Recipients learn about the rules of the road for safe cycling and tips about riding in traffic with other vehicles.

Support for these bike safety events is always needed. See our bike-safety fundraising campaign on Global Giving.
